4) In The Grooms Wedding Speech Does He Just Compliment The Bride Or Does He Raise A Toast To Her ?

There aren’t any hard and fast rules. In your groom speech a groom can raise a toast to his bride, and why not? Though, not every groom will do that and that’s a very good reason why a groom should consider toasting his bride. In fact, it’s an excellent idea.

5) Wedding Speech?

1) I Need Help Making An Interesting Bride Wedding Speech?
I am the bride and didnt make a speech at our engagement party so have been told i should make a speech at the wedding. So i am. The problem i have is that i am a perfectionist and have problems writing things. Can someone please give me some inspiration on how to re lay stories or jokes? Examples of speeches would be GREAT!!!

There is absolutely no reason you have to give a speech.

No one can write your speech from you. Call it a toast if you decide to give one, it sounds less stressful.

Focus on why you’ve decided to marry your fiance. Discuss. Raise your glass. Drink. Sit back down.

3) Wedding Speech Suggestions For Sister Of The Bride?
I’m in my sister’s wedding next week and she and the groom have requested that everyone in the wedding party speak briefly… I’m stuck. Any suggestions? I’d rather it be unique and real, not traditional or cheesy. And heartfelt things are most likely over the top for this situation. Thanks!

Think of a funny or enlightening story from childhood that hinted at what your sister would be like or want when she grew up. Alternatively tell them about the time that you realized what a great and long lasting couple they would be. From there, wish them all the happiness and pass the mic.

5) Should A Bride Give A Speech At Her Wedding?
I am getting married next Saturday (ahhh!!) and i am wondering whether or not i should make a speech…? What do you think? Has anyone been to a wedding that have had a bride make a speech?

both me and my groom got up and said a few words, thanking people for coming out for our special day and thanking those who really made the day possible. nothing too long, sweet and short. :)

6) Can Someone Help Me With The Mother Of The Bride Speech For My Daughter’s Wedding Reception?
It not only is going to be a stressful day for me on my daughter’s wedding day because I am divorced from my daughter’s father and I have not seen or talked to him for many years but my father is very ill and my parents cannot travel therefore they will not be attending the wedding. I need help with writing the speech for the reception and wanted to incorporate my parents not being there on the day to see their first grandchild get married.

ok – maybe this will get your own thought process working! lol
its the speech my dad gave at our wedding

i know that as our guests look at the happy couple they see a young woman and her husband but what i see is a little different.
i see a little girl sitting on her bed waiting for her bedtime story, i see a fresh-scrubbed face laughing at the wind blowing dandelions every which way in the garden. i see a litte girl holding on to my hand for dear life as we send her off to school for the very first time. i see a teary-eyed face looking up at me and asking if her kitten really will go to heaven. i see a teenager waiting on the front porch for her girlfriends to arrive for a sleepover for her 13th birthday. i’ll always see the pride in her face as she graduated and then again as she found her dream job! but for all the happiness i have seen in her face over the years it is nothing compared to the happiness i see shining in her eyes today.
as i stand here i see a younger version of my beautiful wife and i see a young couple much like we were forty-five years ago as we started out on our journey together.
even though the grandparents are no longer with us they are watching and smiling through tears of joy for they know as well as we do that these two youngsters belong together.
my wish for our beautiful daughter and her husband is health and happiness. patience and love. wisdom in dealing with whatever life throws at them and the ability to laugh when they think they can’t possibly laugh anymore.
our family has truly been blessed in life, may that blessing continue on with the two of you!
===================================
as for your parents not being there perhaps you could say something along the line of
even though julie’s grandparents were not able to attend they are with us in spirit. they are looking forward to seeing the video of the wedding and reception and in that small way they will enjoy their first grand-daughter’s wedding day!
julie your grand-parents love you very much and they know that if this young man has captured your heart then he must be a very special young man indeed.
========
i hope this helps – i know its a stressful time for you but i wish you luck! happy wedding!

7) Wedding Speech – Brother Of The Bride?
Im the brother of the bride. im only 17 and my sister is having a wedding. im being honored to tell the speech on behalf of my father. he passed away. what should i wright :S?

You can talk about your childhood with your sister (nothing embarrassing). You can talk about why you like your new brother-in-law. You can talk about how their relationship has inspired you.

If you’re not the creative type, you can borrow someone else’s words. You can read a poem or a blessing for the couple.

Whatever you choose, make sure you practice your speech a few times. It’s okay to copy the speech on to notecards to refresh your memory.

Congratulations on the honor!

5) Does The Brother Of The Bride Have To Make A Wedding Speech?
Or just a brief toast? How long should he speak for?

My husband is wondering what will be expected of him at his sister’s wedding. They aren’t very close, but friendly enough. He will be an usher, and doesn’t want to do the wrong thing by saying too much/too little.
What is the etiquette?
We live in the USA and his sister is in the UK, which is why he’s not more involved with the wedding.
We are flying over for it.

Typically, the only ones to actually make a speech from within the bridal party are the best man and the maid of honor. If the others in the bridal party do wish to make a speech, they can do so, but it’s not usually required.

If he wants to say something, the best thing to do is a quick recap of a memory of the bride and groom and wish them well – like “I remember when they were first dating, they fought so much I thought they hated each other! Good thing they didn’t though, because they look so much happier now. Best wishes to you guys, love you both!”

Something like that. I’m not exactly a speech writer. >^.^<

6) Bride Wedding Speeches??
I am looking for wedding speech ideas for my speech… I get married in 11 days and I am freaking out about my speech- I hate public speaking, and I am LOST as to how to write my speech. We have 2 kids together (Chris & Shanna) and I am really wanting to put their names in the speech to honour them… help help!!

Brides Don’t Normally Give Speeches.
The Couple Usually Just Stand Up & Thank People For Coming & Thanking People Who Helped Them A Whole Lot.

If Your Nervous, Just Stand Up With Your Husband & Hold His Hand. You’ll Feel Much Better If He Is There With You.

7) Anyone Know A Good Uk Site For Wedding Speeches-Bride Father?

try;
www.hitched.co.uk
www.youandyourwedding.co.uk
www.confetti.co.uk
all have information and will probably be able to direct you to more info/ books if you want.
Good luck!

8) Wedding Speech For A Bride!?
ok I was married previously and after 5 yrs I left and got divorced.

I was shocked at the amount of prejudice there still is in this day and age about divorce and had quite a hard time with some friends and family voicing opinions…plus had quite a hard time from ex husband who just wouldnt let go and things turned nasty and lawyers wer involved.

Anyway I haved moved on now engaged to great guy and have a 2 yr old boy who i adore and i am getting married again…a small and intimate affair.

I want to say something kinda saying about my past and even tho i was divorced once marriage i still take marriage seriously but just dont know how to put it into words any ideas?

That’s a tough one! I wouldn’t bring it up. Maybe you could 2say something like “I’m looking forward to creating a happy family with my son and wonderful new husband. Here’s to many joyous years together.” i think that very subtly says that this is something you are taking seriously. I think you’re right. There is too much prejudice against 2nd marriages. It’s always a happy occasion when two people find love – no matter what happened in the past.

9) What Should I Say At My Wedding Speech To My Brides Father?
He has never really been a part of her life & never bothers with her which is why i dont like him.
I dont want to come across as rude or in any way upset her .Really what should i say in my speech as wev nothing to thank him for.

Ok well that is not a time to appear bitter so just say something short and sweet. Hows this; I would like to thank -state his name- for his beautiful daughter and promise to take good care of her’ ( That will have a double meaning only to you since you know that YOU will do better than he did) It should be a very happy occasion leaving any animosity or problems in the past behind. PLUS you dont know the entire story-was their a divorce? Thats often why guys are not a part of her life since the moms dont let them and criticize them but I better butt out since I dont know the details. Congratulations and let any upsetting thoughts go for the day and just be happy

10) How Do I Prepare For The Wedding Speech?
Hello, I’m the younger brother of the bride and making a speech at the reception…I have wedding speech written, I just want to know what to do before i actually deliver. How should i practice???? Any suggestions would be great!

7) Bride/Groom Speech Advice?
I am gettin married this Saturday coming up and my fiance and I are struggling with our speech. We want to keep it short and sweet which sounds easy but here is the problem. My parents have literally paid for EVERYTHING. His parents have not contributed a dime. My fiance and I even had to pay for their wedding attire. We know that times are tough for them right now and we understand why they didn’t. So how do you right a speech to thank my parents and make a mention of them but not make them feel like crap because they didn’t contribute to our wedding?? All I can think of is Thanks mom and Dad for helping us to make this day a special as it is and to My new husbands parents thanks for raising a great son and accepting me into the family. It just doesn’t sound right..Please help.

Begin your speech with, “We would like to thank all of our friends and family for sharing this special day with us”. If I were you I wouldn’t make it known to everyone who paid for what. Emotional and loving support is priceless. Congrats and Best of Luck.
